Last night, a buddy in the group who works on AI labeling was ranting again. He said he spent half a year feeding data into the platform, but they didn’t pay him a single cent and locked his data into a black-box model. Listening to him got me pissed off too.
Lately, I’ve been checking out @OpenledgerHQ, which is tackling this issue head-on. They’re building an AI-focused L1, using Datanets to package data on-chain. Proof of Attribution records contributions on-chain, and OPEN is distributed based on contributions.
Things are moving fast recently: the private mainnet is live, and apps like OpenChat are starting to directly account for chat contributions. They’ve also teamed up with Kaito Earn, putting up 250,000 OPEN over three months for the top 500 creators.
The devs think that the ones who can survive a full cycle aren’t the AI chains just telling stories, but the ones that bake “those who contribute, get paid” directly into the protocol.
