**[Fed's Harker Turns Hawkish Again: Monetary Policy Needs to Remain Tight to Curb Inflation]**
BlockBeats News, November 14 – Fed's Harker stated that although the U.S. dollar is not a core topic of discussion for the central bank, the dollar's weakening this year does not seem concerning. Harker said: "I think there has been a lot of discussion this year about the dollar and its weakening. But it's important to remember that we started from a position of extreme dollar strength, so this year's weakening largely just brings the dollar closer to its theoretical fair value, making it more reasonable compared to other currencies."
Harker also noted that interest rate policy should remain restrictive to exert downward pressure on inflation levels, which remain concerning. "Given the Fed's dual mandate on inflation and employment, this is a challenging period for monetary policy. But overall, I believe we need to maintain a certain degree of tightness to continue pressuring inflation and bring it back down to our target level." (Jin10)
