Following my recent discussion with the UN Secretary-General, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has deployed a team to support the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM). This partnership will enhance Jamaica’s logistics and coordination systems during the recovery process, ensuring greater efficiency and faster response in future emergencies. UNOPS will also transfer technical knowledge and expertise to build ODPEM’s long-term capacity.(Andrew Holness)
