[Yu Weiwen: Building Next-Generation Data and Payment Infrastructure to Support Comprehensive AI Applications in the Industry] BlockBeats News, November 3, Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Chief Executive Yu Weiwen stated at Hong Kong Fintech Week 2025 that the goal of Hong Kong's fintech development blueprint, 'Fintech 2030,' is to establish Hong Kong as a robust, resilient, and forward-looking international fintech hub. The blueprint focuses on four key areas, encompassing more than 40 specific projects, including: Building next-generation data and payment infrastructure to support secure, efficient, and scalable data sharing, enhance cross-border payment connectivity, and create new opportunities in various aspects, such as opening up credit channels for enterprises, facilitating trade financing, providing more personalized financial services for citizens, and enabling more convenient cross-border remittances. Supporting the comprehensive application of artificial intelligence in the industry to further promote the responsible and widespread adoption of AI in the financial sector in Hong Kong and other regions. Strengthening business and technological resilience while preparing for the era of quantum computing, including developing a new certification framework for fintech cybersecurity, establishing new real-time analysis-based early warning systems, and enhancing the robustness of the financial system and the security of financial services. Promoting financial tokenization and fostering a thriving tokenization ecosystem. The HKMA will take the lead in demonstrating asset tokenization, such as regularizing the issuance of tokenized government bonds, while exploring the feasibility of tokenizing Exchange Fund bills and bonds. The HKMA is set to launch the Ensemble project pilot program to support real-world transactions and will continue collaborating with the industry and other central banks to cultivate innovative tokenization use cases.
