zkVM Market Full Package
- Brevis zkVM @brevis_zk
The best at expanding use cases, pioneering some new applications. Vitalik’s little favorite. Although it’s not the earliest zkVM, it has a strong momentum to overtake others. Recently, it’s the most dazzling zkVM out there.
- Boundless @boundless_xyz
This team originally had an independent technical system and didn’t rely on Polygon’s infrastructure. Progress has been decent in all aspects, but the Upbit incident affected the token price and community enthusiasm. Recently, they’ve started recovering, and the team is actively engaging with the market. The top priority now is to rebuild confidence and boost the token price.
- Axiom zkVM @axiom_xyz
Technically unique, mainly focusing on zkVM scalability. However, the technical differences in the market are becoming minimal. Currently, they’re quietly expanding their client base, but you can spot some collaborations on X.
- Valida zkVM @valida_xyz
No fundraising, purely focused on research. They’ve developed many zk-prioritized zkVM designs that other zkVM teams have referenced.
- Succinct @SuccinctLabs
The best at community marketing and maintaining token prices. In terms of use case expansion, they’re competing fiercely with Boundless in the same market segment.
- Aztec @aztecnetwork
The longest-standing privacy-focused Layer 2. They’ve also developed a zkVM, the Aztec Virtual Machine (AVM), to support their privacy-first Layer 2 execution environment, allowing a mix of public and private function execution. Aztec’s AVM is based on SNARKs and emphasizes privacy abstraction and hybrid public/private execution on Ethereum.
- Miden VM @0xMiden
Uses the STARK proof system, focusing on ZK-friendliness rather than EVM compatibility, and supports the execution of arbitrary programs. Its core focus is also on the privacy contract market, competing in the same space as Aztec. Previously announced $25 million in new funding and has airdrop expectations.
