It's becoming increasingly obvious to me that Ethereum is doing something different than any other chain. Ethereum is transforming into a zk chain. L1 will run global DeFi: - Big blocks (10k TPS) - Nodes that run on a phone L2s will run everything else: - General purpose L2s like Base/Arb - Appchain L2s like Lighter (e.g. perps app) No other chain is executing on this strategy - using zk for max scale and decentralization - no shortcuts. Bitcoin ossified with 1st generation cryptography. Ethereum is upgrading to 2nd generation cryptography. Other chains are scaling with nodes that need to run in datacenters.
