I might really be getting old. My brain isn’t as sharp at multi-factor modeling and calculations as it used to be. This time, I made a quick move to seize an arbitrage opportunity and earned a few hundred thousand, but my spot holdings are still down nearly 1M. Overall net worth is still slightly in the red. Back in the day, on 5/19, I was getting a foot massage at Liangzi in Beijing. I opened long and short positions back-to-back and nailed several perfect trades. My total net worth shot up by 70% in one day. The old me would also stash some funds on every exchange and every chain, just in case. But ever since OKX froze one of my accounts for 5 months, and I had to get staff to help recover it, I swore I’d never keep more than 50K on OKX again. If I were my younger self, I probably would’ve reduced my spot holdings to 10% earlier, and I probably would’ve been sharper at spotting better arbitrage opportunities. I guess I really am getting old.
