During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, there were Kunlun slaves. It’s said that Zheng He even bought black slaves. The African slave trade has a tradition spanning thousands, even tens of thousands of years. I’ve actually studied abolition history before. In fact, the UK abolished slavery a hundred years earlier than the US. This was because the UK was the first to industrialize. However, in the early stages of industrialization, the cost advantage compared to slavery wasn’t significant. To solidify its position in industrial production, the UK used its naval power to force its colonies to abolish slavery. They even paid reparations to many African countries at the time because of abolition. So, when did the narrative of white guilt begin? Of course, it started a century later when the US industrialized and also began abolishing slavery. The US initially abolished slavery as a form of trade protection, merely to slow the import of slaves and disrupt local market prices. The goal was to shift internal conflicts onto Europe. That’s why Americans are the most hypocritical. Let’s think about this further. From a Marxist perspective, it was the Industrial Revolution that triggered a revolution in production relations, ultimately ending slavery. Slaves lost a job bound by chains, only to gain the honor of becoming part of the working class. Isn’t the AI revolution the same? The countries that first master AI productivity will be the first to experience a revolution in production relations. What slaves lose is merely their chains.
