The Leader of the Opposition has misled the public on critical economic matters. For this fiscal year, Jamaica’s debt-to-GDP ratio is projected at approximately 65%. And if he believes 75 billion in expenditure can be financed through growth alone, then Jamaica would need to grow by 8–10% annually, a rate we have not achieved since the 1960s. The Jamaica Labour Party has a proven track record of managing the economy responsibly, reducing debt, and ensuring stability, so that growth and opportunities for our people are real, not wishful thinking.(Andrew Holness)
