According to The Washington Post and four government officials, the US Department of Efficiency (DOGE) is using a new artificial intelligence tool aimed at significantly reducing federal regulation, with the goal of removing half of regulatory requirements before Trump's first anniversary in office. The tool is called "DOGE AI Regulatory Decision Tool" and plans to analyze approximately 200000 federal regulations to determine which ones can be revoked. According to the presentation on July 1st, the tool is expected to cut approximately 100000 regulatory entries. The report also points out that the tool will save trillions of dollars for the United States by reducing compliance requirements, cutting federal budgets, and unleashing "external investment". According to the report, the tool has successfully removed over 1000 "regulatory provisions" from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in less than two weeks and completed "100% deregulation" at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
