On July 15th, according to Cointelegraph, Simon Gerovich, CEO of Japanese Bitcoin reserve company Metaplanet, plans to participate in the acquisition of a controlling stake in South Korean listed software services company SGA. If the transaction is ultimately completed, SGA will implement a broader digital asset strategy through the acquisition of Bitcoin. Although Simon Gerovich participated as an independent investor rather than representing Metaplanet, this move is consistent with Metaplanet's growing Bitcoin reserve strategy. This acquisition is part of accelerating the adoption of Bitcoin strategy by Asian companies, transforming traditional companies into entities linked to Bitcoin through transactions, making companies such as SGA tools for Bitcoin investment in regional capital markets. Metaplanet announced yesterday that it purchased 797 BTC at a price of approximately $117451 per Bitcoin, with a total transaction amount of approximately $93.6 million, and has achieved a Bitcoin yield of 435.9% so far in 2025. As of July 14, 2025, Metaplanet holds a total of 16352 BTC, with a cumulative purchase cost of approximately $1.64 billion and an average purchase price of approximately $100191 per BTC.
