According to a report by Golden Finance, an EU diplomat and official stated that the United States has proposed an agreement to the EU to maintain a benchmark tariff of 10% on all EU goods, except for sensitive industries such as airplanes and spirits. Diplomats emphasize that the outline of a trade agreement remains a constantly evolving goal, and any agreement requires Trump's approval to move forward. Washington has not indicated that it will exempt politically sensitive industries such as automobiles, steel, aluminum, or pharmaceuticals as required by the European Union. However, France, Italy, and Ireland may be pleased with the tax exemption for spirits and airplanes. (Politico)
