"Soon" is "now". It is officially illegal to short Bitcoin. While no human will enforce this mandate- if you do decide to short Bitcoin the market will carry out it's own enforcement on you. Don't tempt it. You can still get away with shorting some other alts in the coming days/weeks, but when it comes to Bitcoin stay away from that despicable red button, for your family (and all future generations') sake.
