The number of initial jobless claims in the United States fell to a six week low last week

According to BlockBeats, on July 3rd, the US Department of Labor released data on Thursday showing that the seasonally adjusted number of initial jobless claims decreased by 4000 to 233000 in the week ending June 28th, hitting a six week low since mid May and lower than the 240000 predicted by economists. However, as of the week ending June 21, the total number of people applying for unemployment benefits remained at a high of 1.964 million, the highest level since the autumn of 2021. (Golden Ten)
