According to BlockBeats, on July 2nd, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department announced sanctions on Aeza Group, a Russian "bulletproof custody" service provider, and froze approximately $350000 in assets in a cryptocurrency wallet associated with it. The company is accused of providing professional servers and computer infrastructure for ransomware and information thieves. The targets of sanctions also include multiple Russian and British companies, as well as four Russian executives.
Blockchain analysis company Chainalysis stated that the sanctioned Tron blockchain address is Aeza's managed wallet, responsible for processing payments and transferring funds to various cryptocurrency exchanges. This move represents an important step for the US government to combat cybercrime infrastructure.
