According to a report by Golden Finance, on Tuesday local time, the US Senate narrowly passed President Donald Trump's "Beautiful Bill," but to the disappointment of cryptocurrency industry leaders, the bill failed to include key tax amendments they had previously pushed for targeting cryptocurrency users. In the intense negotiations in the last few hours before the bill was passed, pro crypto lawmakers and industry policy leaders led by Senator Cynthia Lummis (Republican of Wyoming) worked hard to attach an amendment to the bill that included multiple crypto related tax benefits, including those for crypto miners, stakers, businesses holding large amounts of cryptocurrency, and ordinary digital asset users. However, time ran out and the amendment failed to enter the Senate's deliberation stage. A cryptocurrency policy leader stated that this result was a 'missed opportunity' and that they 'just didn't have enough time'.
