Beijing's first AI mapping copyright infringement case sentenced

The Tongzhou Court in Beijing recently tried and sentenced the first criminal case of copyright infringement using artificial intelligence generated models. After using AI tools to fine tune others' original paintings, Luo and four others illegally profited over 270000 yuan by mass producing and selling puzzle products. The court determined that his actions constituted the crime of copyright infringement and sentenced him to fixed-term imprisonment and a fine, and confiscated his illegal gains in accordance with the law.
