Golden Finance reported that after Iran vowed to retaliate against the US attack on its nuclear facilities, the US and UK governments have demanded that citizens in Qatar keep a low profile. The US Embassy in Doha stated in a statement on Monday: "Due to cautious considerations, we recommend that US citizens stay in place for refuge until further notice." British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab also made a similar statement in parliament. On Monday, the head of the Iranian military stated that Iran's response to the weekend attack on Washington will be "proportionate". It is reported that Qatar has the largest US base in the region. The base is named Al Udeid Air Force Base and is also the command headquarters of the US Central Command in the Middle East, responsible for overseeing US military operations in the region. There are currently approximately 9000 American military personnel in Qatar. The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced that Qatar has temporarily closed its airspace to ensure the safety of tourists and residents.
