Goldman Sachs warns of risks in the Strait of Hormuz that could lead to a surge in oil prices
Goldman Sachs warns that the tense situation in the Strait of Hormuz could disrupt oil transportation and significantly push up global energy prices. If the oil transportation volume is halved within a month, Brent crude oil prices may briefly touch $110 per barrel and then reach an average of $95 by the end of 2025.
Despite the increasing risks, Goldman Sachs believes that strong global incentives, especially from the United States and China, will be aimed at preventing significant and prolonged chaos.
