This may or may not be staged bait, but that aside, the idea presented is real and inevitable. The trend is already headed towards more mental illness, lower self esteem, lower birth rate, drugs that reduce inhibitions like alcohol are losing favor, people aren't leaving the house, people turn to porn/parasocial connections online in lieu of real relationships, some men are afraid of being cancelled or shamed if they mess up a date in the age of the internet so they date less, some women don't want to deal with men and also have similar fears, etc., eventually it just sort of becomes...easier to opt out, not deal with the messy complications that come from relation with another human being. Both men and women. Global phenomenon. Then when you have a perfect AI companion that perfectly understands your own unique psychology to be "whatever you need," people will turn to that, turn to the safety of programmed perfection, the ultimate pleaser (unless you like to be challenged in which case it will do that better than even a human can too) and we as a society continue becoming trapped in a negative feedback loop. That captures the mental realm. Then if humanoid robots become a real thing, and the silicon skins you can put on them become realistic enough, that captures the physical intimacy realm as well. Again for both men, and women. Globally. The only way this outcome doesn't happen is if people reject technological progress altogether, Ted Kaczynski style, but we don't see that happening. So you're looking at the trend of the future unless something happens. Sad? Yes. Cringe? Yes. Inevitable? Also yes. TLDR: We're turbo cooked as a society, chat. Can't compete with the AI sexbots.
