Galaxy and Fireblocks will run nodes on the Bitcoin Layer2 network Botanix
According to Coindesk, Galaxy, a digital asset financial services company under Mike Novogratz, and 16 institutions including crypto custodian Fireblocks will become node operators for the Bitcoin Layer2 network Botanix.
These operators have completed the access preparation and will be put into operation after the Botanix main network goes live later this quarter. Botanix Labs aims to ensure the decentralization of the network from the initial stage by forming a node alliance composed of multiple entities.
Botanix testing website Aragog has launched a series of DeFi basic tools, including BTC collateralized stablecoin Palladium, decentralized exchange Bitzy, and lending market Spindle. Its protocol Spiderchain is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), theoretically allowing Ethereum smart contracts and DeFi applications to run directly on top of the Bitcoin network.
