BREAKING: China’s Caixin Manufacturing PMI fell 2.1 points in May, to 48.3, marking the lowest level since September 2022.
This survey focuses on small and medium-sized businesses in the non-state sector.
This also marks the first monthly contraction since September 2024.
It's clear that Chinese manufacturing supply and demand have weakened as tariffs have taken effect.
Higher tariffs are hitting smaller Chinese exporters.
