Texas Congressman raises questions over failure to disclose Bitcoin purchase behavior within prescribed deadline

According to a report by OpenSecrets on Monday, Texas Congressman Brandon Gill (Republican) failed to properly disclose up to $500000 in Bitcoin purchases within the 45 day deadline set by federal law, once again raising questions about transparency and conflicts of interest among cryptocurrency investment lawmakers.
Gill reported that he purchased Bitcoin worth $100100 to $250000 on January 29 and February 27, respectively, but did not disclose these transactions until Monday, far exceeding the deadline required by the Stop Trading Act. Decrypt has contacted Jill's office for feedback.
The STOCK Act was passed in 2012 with the aim of curbing insider trading and ensuring accountability by requiring timely reporting of securities transactions by lawmakers, including those involving digital assets.
