Odaily Planet Daily reported that according to SEC documents on May 28th, Meta shareholders overwhelmingly rejected the proposal to allocate a portion of $72 billion in cash to Bitcoin with nearly 5 billion votes against and only 3.92 million votes in support. The proposal was initiated by Ethan Peck, a Bitcoin advocate and head of Bitcoin at Strike Wealth Management, who has previously made similar proposals to Microsoft and Amazon. Currently, Microsoft has rejected the proposal and Amazon has not yet voted. Peck advocates using Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset to address monetary policy uncertainty. Although Meta has previously been involved in the blockchain project Libra (later renamed Diem and closed), the company's attitude towards cryptocurrency assets is still unclear. Earlier this year, there were reports that Meta was exploring the use of stablecoins to manage payments between applications. (CoinDesk)
