IMF questions Pakistan's Bitcoin mining power plan According to Cointelegraph, in the context of energy shortages and budget negotiations, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has questioned Pakistan's plan to allocate 2000 megawatts of electricity for Bitcoin mining. The plan was announced last week with the aim of attracting autonomous miners, blockchain companies, and artificial intelligence companies to Pakistan. Currently, the IMF has requested the Pakistani Ministry of Finance to urgently clarify the legality of cryptocurrency mining and power distribution issues, especially in light of the country's long-term energy shortages and fiscal pressures.
