The difficulty of upgrading Bitcoin's anti quantum algorithm.
Due to the complete privatization of Bitcoin UTXOs, only users holding the UTXO private key can use these UTXOs. After upgrading the anti quantum algorithm, users holding UTXO private keys need to transfer all funds to the address of the anti quantum algorithm to prevent future quantum computer attacks on non anti quantum algorithm private keys.
At this point, there will be a core challenge: how to handle BTC that have lost their private keys (such as Satoshi Nakamoto's 1.1 million BTC).
If not processed, then the quantum computer will come out and the BTC that has not been transferred to the key address of the anti quantum algorithm will be cracked and held by the organization that owns the quantum computer.
If we want to deal with it, we have to face the decentralization problem of Bitcoin. The account operation permissions are all in UTXO. The only logic that the Bitcoin network can handle is to complete the migration from non quantum resistant computer addresses to quantum resistant computer addresses within a certain period of time, and after that period of time, the Bitcoin network will abandon the address operations of non quantum resistant computer algorithms. This is equivalent to freezing an address account that no one has operated on (such as Satoshi Nakamoto's address).
Finally, the technological revolution brought about by the Bitcoin network is just beginning, and adaptability is the core technology keyword of the Bitcoin network.
