No matter how long the RWA narrative is noisy, it is bound to be full of challenges. @Plumenetwork has teamed up with the old RWA project @ centralifuge from 2017, and this time has targeted a fundamental pain point in the RWA track: how to make on chain assets both compliant and have native liquidity?
In fact, the RWA market has always been plagued by two problems: either it is pure concept speculation, where assets lie there motionless after being put on the chain; Either the technical implementation is rough and the compliance is questionable.
As a well-established RWA protocol, Centrifuge's $1 billion asset issuance scale proves its maturity in traditional asset tokenization, but it has always lacked a truly optimized underlying environment for RWA.
The value of Plume lies precisely in this - it has been specifically optimized for RWA scenarios from the underlying architecture. The native support of ERC-3643 standard, modular compliance tools, and flexible switching between licensed and unlicensed modes are all key infrastructure for the large-scale implementation of RWA.
The core advantage of Plume is that the Arc engine can accommodate two sets of game rules at the same time: projects that want to comply can take the licensing route, which includes KYC and transfer restrictions; Projects that want to maintain native encryption features can be fully open for operation.
This "one chain, two systems" design precisely hits the biggest pain point of the current RWA project - the dilemma of choosing compliance or innovation.
This integration has shown us the possibility of the RWA track evolving from "asset on chain" to "RWAfi". Simply moving real estate and bonds onto the chain has limited significance. The true value lies in allowing these assets to participate in DeFi's composability, generating incremental returns and application scenarios.
However, although the expected market size of $16 trillion is tempting, for RWA to truly take off, it still depends on whether a balance can be found between compliance certainty and innovation vitality. The collaboration between Plume and Centrifuge is a step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go before the industry changes.
