The current Republican party is a loose coalition between libertarians and nationalists where the nationalists can be subdivided further into the pro-Israel camp and the anti-Israel camp. While there are some things all factions generally agree on, like biological men shouldn’t be in boxing matches with women and censorship on X is bad, there are some disagreements over short term spending. I think it’s important to hold the coalition together until power is fully consolidated so I don’t mind having the balance of power within the party to shift toward the nationalists for now. Once the clandestine games are done, it would be natural to shift the balance toward the libertarians who are strong at commerce and good at rebuilding once the war is won. So I think it’s important not to primary all the libertarians who vote no on more spending even if they are just on the wrong page about what game is being played and what the stakes are. That being said, I find it interesting that Trump singles out Massie in particular rather than others like Rand Paul who usually also votes no on spending. My guess is that Trump is less forgiving with Massie because he thinks Massie specifically should know better. 🤔
