According to Golden Finance, Vitalik Buterin released a proposal on May 19th to adjust the Ethereum scaling roadmap, focusing on the concept of "partially stateless nodes" aimed at balancing the contradiction between network scaling and node decentralization. This scheme allows users to run nodes that only store partial state data, while maintaining trustless, anti censorship, and privacy friendly local access capabilities. The proposal also prioritizes the comprehensive deployment of EIP-4444, shortening the storage period of node data to about 36 days and significantly reducing disk space requirements. At the same time, it is recommended to build a distributed historical storage solution and adjust the gas pricing mechanism to increase storage costs and reduce execution costs. This adjustment is expected to ensure the feasibility of individual node operation and maintain the decentralized nature of the Ethereum network, even with a 10-100 fold increase in L1 gas restrictions.
