Bitcoin transaction fees hit a new high in 2025, prices once again challenge historical highs

BlockBeats News: On May 19th, according to TheBlock, the average 7-day transaction fee on the Bitcoin chain rose to $2.40, an increase of about $1 from early May and a new high for the year. Glassnode data shows that illiquid supply (long-term BTC holdings) has reached a historical peak.
Analysts say that the proportion of Bitcoin's market value has rebounded, indicating that the previous pullback was due to liquidity adjustments rather than the start of the "counterfeit coin season". The continuous decrease in trading platform stock coupled with rising demand may trigger more severe supply shortages, further pushing up Bitcoin prices.
