Recently, several friends have mentioned a phenomenon
Many young people in Shenzhen use AI to treat their own illnesses, and then go to doctors to follow the requirements of AI. Doctors also obey and comply. On the contrary, it is said that some doctors also directly use GPT to search for information in front of patients.
I have a friend who is a doctor and postdoctoral fellow from the UK. I once tentatively asked him how to treat patients with GPT, fearing to offend him. However, he admitted that GPT has surpassed 99% of doctors, which surprised me greatly.
I feel that in addition to fields such as surgery, the healthcare industry may undergo a drastic change due to AI, which will benefit everyone more efficiently and fairly, and also reduce the pressure on the healthcare system and the burden of medical insurance.
Doctors in many countries have become a high paying interest group, for example, the South Korean government hopes to recruit more students to make up for the shortage of medical resources, but doctors across the country have gone on a collective strike. Many countries have a heavy burden on doctors. China may become a testing ground for the AI healthcare revolution.
