Odaily Planet Daily reported that the Ukrainian government is preparing legislation to establish a national strategic Bitcoin reserve. It is reported that Ukraine currently holds approximately 46351 BTC worth around 4.8 billion US dollars. These bitcoins mainly come from donations, asset seizures, and fundraising activities during the war. Ukrainian parliamentarian Yaroslav Zhelezniak stated that the relevant bill has entered the final drafting stage and is expected to be submitted to parliament for review soon. The bill aims to officially include Bitcoin in the national fiscal strategy. Cryptocurrency exchange Binance is assisting Ukraine in advancing the plan, but emphasizes the need for significant legislative reforms. Previously, the Ukrainian parliament had passed a virtual asset bill, but it was withdrawn under pressure from the presidential office and the National Securities Commission. At present, the National Securities Commission has proposed 80 amendments to improve the legal framework for encrypted assets. This move by Ukraine marks a continuous increase in its emphasis on cryptocurrency in its national financial strategy. (Decrypt)
