Today is a proud day for St. Thomas. For decades, it was called the forgotten parish. Overlooked, underdeveloped, and cut off from the kind of progress other parts of the country were experiencing. But today, that story changes. The official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Morant Bay Urban Centre signals a new era for the people of St. Thomas. They will now have access to modern infrastructure, vital public services, and private sector opportunities all in one central location. There are new roads leading to the parish, new businesses preparing to open, and a renewed sense of possibility. This is what development looks like. And this is how we are building Jamaica, parish by parish. Creating the conditions for every Jamaican, in every corner of the country, to live, work, and thrive. The development is real. The transformation is happening. And to the rest of Jamaica, let this be a sign. Your turn is coming.
