I had the opportunity to speak for the first time with Pope Leo XIV. I once again congratulated him on his election. We discussed the efforts needed to silence weapons wherever conflicts are raging around the world, in particular to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace in Ukraine and Gaza. We share the ambition to reconcile the fight against poverty with the protection of the planet. This is what France is working on with more than 70 partners from every continent through the Pact for Prosperity, People and the Planet. It is also what the world will stand for during the United Nations Ocean Conference taking place in June in Nice. France will always stand with those who work for peace and dialogue between the peoples.
