According to BlockBeats, on May 15th, the market dominance of Bitcoin significantly decreased this month, igniting hope for a comprehensive knockoff season or bull market to expand beyond BTC and boost the valuation of other sectors in the digital asset market. Joao Wedson, CEO and founder of the encrypted data analysis platform Alphractal, predicts that June will usher in a comprehensive counterfeit currency season. The dominance rate of Bitcoin (a measure of the leading cryptocurrency's market share in the entire digital asset market) decreased from approximately 65% to 62% within a week, ending a five month upward trend. At the same time, the total market value of the cryptocurrency market increased from $2.9 trillion to $3.24 trillion. This comparison indicates that investor interest has shifted from Bitcoin to some alternative currencies. According to Wedson's analysis, the season for altcoins has begun, and the dominance of Bitcoin is expected to rapidly decline in the coming months. Wedson's proprietary altcoin seasonal index (focusing on 57 selected altcoins) shows that in the past 60 days, 37 altcoins have performed better than BTC. In a detailed post on X, Wedson stated: 'Even if BTC falls in the coming weeks, most altcoins have already bottomed out and rebounded, and it is unlikely to fall below recent price levels.'. A portion of Bitcoin's $2 trillion market value is likely to flow into altcoins. Therefore, please be sure to analyze the trading pairs of your altcoins against BTC (such as ETH/BTC or COTI/BTC). '' However, broader indicators indicate that the bull market has not yet extended beyond BTC. For example, CoinMarketCap's altcoin index (focusing on the top 100 coins) remains at 27, indicating that it is still the 'Bitcoin season'.
