I visited the grieving community of Spanish Town and spoke with the heartbroken residents following the horrific sexual assault and murder of 9-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon last Friday evening on Job Lane. This is a deeply tragic and painful moment for all of us, and I extend my sincerest condolences to Kelsey’s family, friends, and the entire community. I want to urge residents: please continue working with the police. Do not take justice into your own hands. We understand your pain and your anger, but true justice must come through the rule of law. We must trust and support our law enforcement officers as they work tirelessly to bring the perpetrator to justice. The Ministry of National Security has announced a reward of 2 million dollars for anyone who provides information leading to the capture of the person responsible for this heinous act. Let us stand united as a nation against such brutality, and remain committed to protecting our children and communities.
