According to Bloomberg, Alex Mashinsky, founder of Celsius Network, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for cryptocurrency fraud. Mashinsky pleaded guilty in December last year, and Manhattan Federal District Judge John Koeltl delivered his verdict on May 8th. The federal prosecutor originally sought a 20-year sentence, stating that he had "no remorse" for the fraudulent behavior involved.
