BitMEX: Supports removing OP-Return policy restrictions from Bitcoin Core

BitMEX Research has released an article focusing on the recent controversy surrounding the possible removal of OP-Return policy restrictions in Bitcoin Core. The article points out that from an economic reality perspective, miners aim to maximize profits and do not consider whether the mining blocks contain junk information. Moreover, if there are spammers willing to offer higher prices, they can completely outperform other users. The article uses the example of miners profiting over 7000 bitcoins from transaction fees related to inscriptions. BitMEX Research also mentioned that people running nodes expect to have an efficient memory pool (mempool) to more accurately predict the blocks that miners may mine, which can help users receive new blocks faster and determine reasonable transaction fees for transactions. Based on these considerations, BitMEX Research supports to some extent the removal of OP-Return policy restrictions.
