Cosine: Beware of fake Zoom conference software poisoning attacks, deepfake videos or inducing victims to download and install

PANews|May 07, 2025 06:54
Slow Mist founder Cosine once again issued a warning, stating that hackers have recently launched a "disguised meeting" attack under the name Zoom, specifically targeting cryptocurrency project parties and key individuals. Attackers deceive users into downloading and installing malicious software by forging Zoom domain name links, and even use deepfake technology to disguise themselves as "attendees" in the video. Once the victim clicks to download, hackers can remotely control the computer and further steal funds or cloud permissions. Security experts remind us to verify whether the conference link is an official domain name (zoom. (us or zoom. com)) to prevent security risks caused by AI forgery.
