OpenAI architecture adjustment: for-profit entities transform into public welfare companies, non-profit organizations continue to control

According to OpenAI's official blog, OpenAI announced that it will transform its for-profit entity into a "public interest company" (PBC), aiming to more effectively balance the company's mission and capital operations. The PBC will continue to be supervised and controlled by OpenAI's original non-profit organization, which will also become its major shareholder. OpenAI Board Chairman Bret Taylor and CEO Sam Altman stated that this decision was made after dialogue with the California and Delaware justice departments, with the aim of ensuring that AI development benefits all of humanity while enhancing funding mobilization capabilities to cope with the enormous computing resources needed in the AGI era.
