Republican executives from the House Financial Services Committee and Agriculture Committee will release a discussion draft before the hearing on May 6th, proposing to establish an important regulatory framework for digital assets. The draft is expected to be similar to the Financial Innovation and Technology Act for the 21st Century (FIT 21) passed by the House of Representatives last year, which aims to clarify when digital assets will be regulated by the SEC, CFTC, or both. Ron Hammond, Senior Director of the Blockchain Association, stated that he has not yet seen a specific version of the discussion draft, but according to his understanding, the similarity between the draft and the FIT 21 bill is about 90%.
