Nasdaq recently wrote to the US SEC, suggesting that a clear classification system should be established for future cryptocurrency regulation, dividing digital assets into four categories: financial securities, investment contracts, commodities, and other assets. The letter pointed out that regulation should be governed separately by the SEC and CFTC based on the nature of assets, and called for the development of unified trading platform rules to support the trading of multiple types of assets on the same platform.
