Former US State Department official Mike Bentz stated that the US funded US Institute of Peace (USIP) provides funding to the Taliban and encourages them to maintain the smooth flow of the global heroin pipeline. The United States Institute of Peace has received $56 million in funding from the United States and operates "rule of law" projects that operate outside of legal review and are located near the State Department. There is no investigation by the Ministry of Justice. There is no transparency. Only 'building peace' is somehow linked to the $9 billion drug control failure and 95% of global heroin. Not only the United States Institute of Peace, but also the United States Agency for International Development and the National Endowment for Democracy have been accused of implementing disguised foreign policies in the name of humanitarianism.
