The US government is considering imposing sanctions on Chinese AI company DeepSeek

Golden Finance reported that, according to Decrypt, the Trump government of the United States is considering taking restrictive measures against the Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek, which may cut off its access to American technology and prohibit Americans from using its services. This move stems from DeepSeek's release of the DeepSeek-V3 model in January this year, which achieved performance comparable to its American competitors at a cost of only about $6 million, raising national security concerns. The US Congressional Select Committee on China accuses DeepSeek of secretly leaking US user data and possibly using around 60000 Nvidia chips (including 20000 chips subject to export controls) to train its model.
