On April 17th, according to Finance Magnates, the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) issued a public warning that scammers forged documents from Malta's financial regulatory agency and demanded money from traders under the guise of fictitious market manipulation fines, reminding users to remain vigilant. This scam mainly targets Bitcoin and Ethereum traders. MFSA stated that scammers sent false documents to individuals involved in BTC and ETH trading, claiming to be fined for alleged market manipulation and threatening regulatory action if they do not comply. MFSA confirms that these threats are purely fabricated and the relevant documents have no legal effect. These forged letters carefully imitated the MFSA logo, attempting to deceive recipients into making payments.
