Warning: Scammers lure users into signing malicious transactions by taking over the official website of abandoned DeFi projects

According to Protos, DeFi users have recently encountered a new type of fraud: scammers take over the official websites of abandoned projects and lure old users into signing malicious "fund drain" transactions. This passive scam is different from traditional proactive scams, as it specifically targets old users who may still have old project bookmarks. DeFiLlama anonymous founder 0xngmi has issued a warning that they have removed expired domains from the platform and browser extensions, but still reminds users to remain vigilant. Due to the disbandment of these project teams, no one can detect security vulnerabilities or replace malicious interfaces in a timely manner. Users can only rely on themselves to carefully check every transaction to be signed, with almost no other choice. A Maker/Sky community member pointed out that the official domain of the now defunct Maker sub DAO Sakura is currently only sold for one cent.
