Federal Reserve's Gulsby: Interest rates should remain unchanged, tariffs may push up inflation in the short term

According to Jin Shi's report, Federal Reserve official Goolsby stated that it is currently the time to pause interest rate adjustments and adopt a wait-and-see stance, with a high threshold for policy changes. He pointed out that the job market remains stable and is more inclined towards market inflation expectations data. Gulsby believes that the current high tariff level will push up inflation in the short term and harm economic growth, although some measures have been suspended. In addition, he said that US Treasuries remained the safest asset in the world, and the recent strong auction of 10-year treasury bond bonds eased market concerns.
