I welcome Germany’s strong decision to support Ukraine with an additional €3 billion in funding for defense needs for 2025, and nearly €8.25 billion for the following years (2026–2029). This will include air defense, artillery, drones, armored vehicles, demining equipment, and more. As always, Germany is providing exactly what Ukraine needs most—what saves Ukrainian lives. This means contracts with the German defense industry will now be signed for future—a significant step toward building long-term security guarantees. It is also a recognition that Ukraine’s army will become even stronger after the war ends, and Germany is committed to contributing to that. I’m grateful to the German people and all the democratic forces who contributed to this decision. My sincere thanks to Chancellor Olaf Scholz @Bundeskanzler and @_FriedrichMerz, winner of the recent German elections. Germany has already provided enormous support to Ukraine and continues to demonstrate leadership in defending the values of normal life and the value of human life itself. Everything we are doing now to stop Russia’s aggression will also serve as a foundation for long-term security guarantees in the future. Danke, Deutschland!
