We met with students and faculty of the University of Helsinki and Tampere University. We are grateful for such a warm welcome and sincere communication. We discussed Ukraine and Europe's efforts to achieve a just peace, the global security architecture, Finland's role in Ukraine's reconstruction, and the importance of everyday contributions from each citizen to finally achieve a dignified peace. Today, Ukrainian flags are waving everywhere on the streets of Helsinki, and this is a response that Ukraine is not alone. We also had separate conversations with Ukrainian students studying at these universities and Finnish students learning our language and history at Ukrainian Studies. There should definitely be more Ukrainian Studies programs around the world. Today, we signed Memoranda of Cooperation with the University of Helsinki and Tampere University to join the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies. In addition, the libraries at these Finnish universities—the University of Helsinki and Tampere University—have been enriched with collections of fiction—classics and works that will definitely become classics, including those by our defenders. All of this is part of the Ukrainian Bookshelf project. Thank you for your help in defending Ukraine, for supporting our people, language and history. We deeply appreciate it.
