Bitcoin mining company Genesis Digital Assets expands 50 MW mine in Texas

According to CoinDesk, private Bitcoin mining company Genesis Digital Assets Limited (GDA) is expanding its Bitcoin mining business in western Texas, adding 50 megawatts of electricity capacity to its Pyote and Vernon mines. This expansion includes the addition of two 20 MW buildings at the Pyote mine, bringing the total capacity of the mine to 195 MW; Add 10 MW container facilities at the Vernon mine, bringing the total capacity of the mine to 70 MW. According to the GDA website, the Pyote mine can be expanded to 370 megawatts. GDA currently has a total power capacity of over 600 megawatts worldwide and operates 20 data centers located in Texas, South Carolina, Sweden, and Argentina. The CEO of the company, Abdumalik Mirakhmedov, stated that GDA is "one of the world's largest Bitcoin mining companies in terms of computing power". The company will participate in the demand response plan in Texas, shutting down mining machines and receiving compensation during peak electricity demand periods.
